Basil Lemonade
Basil Syrup
1 handful of basil leaves
1 cup of water
2 cups of sugar
Mix
2 cups of lemon juice (frozen or fresh)
2-3 cups of cold sparkling water (I used Pellegrino)
Directions:
-Simmer syrup ingredients until sugar is completely dissolved.
-Simmer syrup ingredients until sugar is completely dissolved.
-Strain or pick out basil leaves and allow syrup to cool.
-Mix together lemon juice, sparkling water and syrup.
*I added a little more than 2 cups of water so between 2 and 3 is ideal for me but start with 2 and taste test as you add until it's right for you!
Chill before serving or pour over ice. Enjoy with a good book, or savory meal and good company. :)
